The Alaska Federation of Natives (AFN) recently held its 8th Annual Alaska Day in Washington, D.C. on May 1 and 2. The theme of the event was “Building Blocks for a Sustainable Future,” with a focus on topics such as energy and infrastructure, government services, food security, hunting and fishing, communications, technology, innovation, and federal-state relations.
This event brought together Alaska Native leaders, industry experts, military officials, members of the Alaska and Hawaii congressional delegation, and White House officials to discuss the pressing issues that affect Alaska Native communities. AFN would like to express our gratitude to all the attendees for their active participation and engagement, and also extend our appreciation to the diverse range of panelists and subject matter experts who shared their valuable insights. Stay tuned for the Alaska Day 2024 post-report that is currently underway.
AFN wishes to thank our sponsors for their generous support, without which the event would not have been a success.
