Brian Ridley is Han Gwich’in and a tribal member of the Native Village of Eagle. He received a bachelor’s degree in business finance from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and has more than 28 years of experience in the finance industry and management. Chief Ridley previously served as the Chief Finance Officer of Tanana Chiefs Conference from 2008-2021. He also worked as a branch manager and business banker for 11 years for the National Bank of Alaska and Wells Fargo Bank.
Chief Ridley currently serves as the Treasurer of Hungwitchin Corporation and the Alaska Area Vice President for the National Congress of American Indians. He previously served on the Doyon, Limited Board of Directors, as treasurer for the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center, the Dillingham Chamber of Commerce, and the Copper Valley Economic Development Council.
In his free time, he enjoys hunting, golfing, and spending time with his family including his wife, Alexandra Swenson-Ridley, and four sons, Gabe, Adam, Jacob, and Fritz.
As the Chief/Chairman of the Tanana Chiefs Conference for the last four years, Chief Ridley has the responsibility to ensure the 42 tribal entities and 20,000 tribal members are provided quality health care, social services, and tribal government technical assistance.
