Appropriations Tracker

The Alaska Federation of Natives and the First Alaskans Institute are pleased to provide an “Appropriations Tracker” for Fiscal Year 2027 to assist members across the state of Alaska in following this year’s budget and appropriations process. This is a continuation of last year’s successful effort tracking appropriations FY 2026.

Below you will find a table that includes both the House of Representatives and Senate versions of each of the twelve appropriations bills for FY 2027, as well as links to each bill and report language text from each congressional body, links showing congressionally directed spending items (“earmarks”) for each bill, as well as the final text of the Conference Report or Explanatory Statement at the conclusion of the appropriations process.

This table will be updated whenever the House or Senate acts on a bill, whether at the committee level, or on the floor of the House or Senate.  In order to provide the most updated information, the Tracker will provide information as soon as it is publicly available. References to “Committee Prints” in the Tracker mean the links provided are to material that is used by the House or Senate Appropriations Committee to mark up a bill that has yet to be filed with the respective House or Senate Bill clerk. These links will be updated when the bill is filed and receives a formal Bill/Report number.

A tab has been included which provides users a reference to the Tracker for FY 2026, in order to make comparisons to previous year’s appropriations bills, track legislative history, and see changes in the various programs eligible for Congressionally Directed Spending projects (“earmarks”).

About the Tracker

In early October 2025, when we launched the FY 2026 version of the Appropriations Tracker, we hosted an “Appropriations Tracker” Webinar which provided a valuable opportunity for our community to gain a clearer understanding of how the federal appropriations process works, including how lapses in funding, such as a government shutdown, can impact timelines, program implementation, and investments in our communities. By understanding where these impacts occur, members are better equipped to track and engage in the process throughout the year.

If you missed the webinar or would like to revisit some of the insights shared, we invite you to watch the recording:
