Christopher Simon

Christopher Simon was raised in Huslia, Alaska and is of the Bedzeyh Te Hut’aane clan. When his friends and classmates left Huslia to finish high school at Mt. Edgecumbe High School, Chris’ parents sent him to Nulato to live with another family.

After attending college and receiving two degrees and a certificate, Chris returned home to work in the school as a teacher, principal and school superintendent. He retired from education after working as the Rural Education Coordinator for the Alaska Department of Education & Early Development and was hired in health administration. Simon has been employed as the Chief Executive Officer of K’oyitl’ots’ina Limited (KCorp), the village corporation for Huslia, Hughes, Allakaket, and Alatna since 2018. He has served on the Doyon Limited board of directors since 2009 and is currently the chairman. 

Chris is married to Letha Simon and they raised their two daughters and son in Hughes, Huslia, Bethel, and Fairbanks.
