Voter Education & Information
AFN is committed to helping voters prepare to participate fully in the 2026 General Election. As a reflection of that commitment, we have assembled an array of educational resources.
We encourage all voters to learn about the candidates, their priorities, and their positions on issues that matter to Alaska. AFN is a nonpartisan organization. These resources are intended solely as voter education resources and do not constitute an endorsement or recommendation of any candidate.
2026 Candidates Guide: Statewide, Federal, and Gubernatorial Candidate Questionnaires
AFN invited all candidates appearing on the November 2026 General Election ballot to respond to a questionnaire addressing issues important to Alaska Native people and communities, as well as key statewide issues facing Alaska.
To ensure that voters hear directly from the candidates, AFN has not edited, altered, or proofread questionnaire responses. Responses are presented as submitted by each candidate. Candidates for each office all had the same opportunity to participate and received the same questions.
2026 Election Guide: Candidate Research and Essential Voter Information
AFN has assembled a robust set of resources to support voter education and participation in the 2026 General Election, including detailed analyses of candidate positions and voting records (where available), voting tips, quick reference guides, and election schedule/location details.
In this video, AFN Board Member Jodi Mitchell shares a powerful reminder of why voting matters and why Alaska Native representation is so important. Our voices, our values, and our lived experiences deserve a place in the decisions that affect our people.
When Alaska Native people vote, we strengthen our communities, honor those who came before us, and help ensure future generations are represented.
