Yesterday, Alaska’s Congressman Don Young chaired a legislative hearing on H.R. 2387, the Alaska Native Veterans Land Allotment Equity Act, in the House Natural Resources Subcommittee on Indian, Insular and Alaska Native Affairs (IIANA) to discuss legislation that would allow approximately 2,800 Alaska Natives who served in Vietnam, and missed an earlier opportunity because of that service, to apply for their Native allotment.
